The most commonly asked question:
How much will it cost to build my web site?
The only honest answer:
Well, that depends...
This is not the answer you were hoping to hear, but it is the only honest one that can be given without specific requirements. Each web site is different. The cost of a Dog Bone Designs site is determined by the number of hours expended in the process. We also allow you to do as little or as much of the design work as you want. The more effort you are willing to put into your design the less it will probably cost. We bill at a rate of $35 per hour for the time we spend working on your site. An average informational site, like an alpaca farm or a small business, will usually cost around $500 including the purchase of the domain name and setup fees. This price assumes that you provide the text in electronic format, some idea of how you want the site organized, and the images in either electronic or hard copy. This price also assumes one or two rounds of review and comment incorporation.
Our experience has shown that very few clients have firm requirements in hand when they first contact us. They usually have a concept and the actual requirements become defined during the design process. We will provide an estimate upon request. We tend to make our estimates high to avoid unpleasant surprises down the road. Your bill will be based on actual hours and often will come in below the estimate.
